Tabriz Museum of Natural History

Taxidermy of various kinds of animals from all around the country, especially Eastern Azerbaijan province, are gathered in Tabriz Museum of Natural History. They are fully disinfected, beautifully arranged, and carefully put on display for the public. Moreover, this museum has collected different species of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, and other kinds of domestic or wild animals and made them open to the public. There are also paintings and special decorations that illustrate their living environment and the way they live.

Tabriz Museum of Natural History is located in the same region as the Environment Office of the province. It is one of the biggest and most comprehensive as well as the most complete collections of natural history museums in Iran and one of the notable attractions of Tabriz.

Extending over 200 square meters, Tabriz Museum of Natural History was established in Tabriz, Eastern Azerbaijan province, in 1993.

Tabriz Museum of Natural History has distinct botanical and zoological collections. These collections contain 38 kinds of mammals, 49 kinds of birds, 13 kinds of reptiles, 9 kinds of aquatics, 2 kinds of fossils, and some kinds of crustaceans and insects. One room is also designated for some Mesozoic dinosaurs that watching them takes you to 50 million years ago.

Each species has a label on which includes some information like name, scientific name, diet, reproduction, geographical distribution, and how the sample is collected.
