How To Get To Tehran?

By Car

Tehran is reachable from all directions. The routes from the Persian Gulf cities to Tehran are roads 71 and 65. From the north (Caspian Sea) to Tehran by road 77. From the west (Tabriz and the border with Turkey) to Tehran is by road 32 and 38. From the eastern provinces like Razavi-Khorasan from road 22 (border Turkmenistan), road 36 (border Afghanistan) and road 44 highway from Mashhad to Tehran are possible routes. Also from Mirjaveh (border Pakistan) to Tehran are connected road-routes by road 71 and 84. From Khorramshahr (border Iraq) to Tehran is possible by road 37.

By Bus

From abroad: There could be taken busses from neighboring countries like Turkey, Iraq, Armenia and Azerbaijan to Tehran directly. Even from a far corner like Istanbul are buses leaving to Tehran daily. In Iran: from all provinces in Iran there are busses available which leave directly to Tehran. By Train

From abroad: Trains are available from Ankara (via Tabriz) to Tehran for just 43 euros one way. This train is called the Trans-Asia Express. From Istanbul you can book your train ticket get to Tehran too, but then you have to switch your train in Ankara for Tehran. The train from Ankara leaves every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. In Iran: from the direction Tabriz, Mashhad and Isfahan there are trains available to Tehran every day
